White-Light Blue Pure Katan Silk Banarasi Handloom Saree

INK05

Inkling

A glimmering, a hint, a memory, like one stirred by the silhouette of an old flower, kept buried in the pages of an old, ruled, note-book. A key to the past and a promise for the future.

Silken yarns of different hues, painstakingly set-up and used across the warp and the weft, creating a body of checks and a bed for our creepers of rose impressions. A contemporary pattern, tinged with sweet nostalgia of the past!

  • Color¬†-¬†A¬†beautiful shade of¬†White with delicate¬†light blue checks¬†¬†
  • Technique¬†- An enduring Kadwa weave and fine Meenakari technique. The elaborate and laborious Kadwa (Kadhua) technique involves hand-weaving each motif separately. It takes longer on the handloom, but makes a more robust pattern, which stands out on the fabric. Meenakari involves the painstaking addition of supplementary coloured resham threads during the hand-weaving process.
  • Fabric¬†- Soft as butter, pure Katan silk
  • Speciality¬†- Developed using the imperfect impressions made on paper, by roses dipped in Indian Ink, our Inkling saree has beautiful kadhua meenakari buds across the body and delightful rose vines¬†along the border, over a body of checks.¬†
  • Tilfi Promise¬†- Pure. Handloom. Banaras.
  • Note: The saree comes with a self-woven blouse piece, but can optionally be purchased with our chic, strappy, made-to-measure blouse.¬†

Since this product is handwoven, there might be slight irregularities. But don't you think these add to the singular charm of a handloom beauty?
