'Gulnaar' Red Pure Katan Silk Banarasi Handloom Saree

WE0008

Gulnaar

An ode to vintage luxury, Inspired by heritage design aesthetics and Mughal influences, this is a thoughtfully handcrafted saree in striking hues of bridal finery. A masterwork which requires an immense amount of technical skill, it features intricate meenakari inlay work over an ornate zari jangla pattern and an exquisitely detailed aanchal. An unforgettable weave, emblematic of true Banarasi master craftsmanship.

  • Color - A ravishing shade of Red
  • Technique - An enduring Kadwa weave and fine Meenakari technique. The elaborate and laborious Kadwa (Kadhua) technique involves hand-weaving each motif separately. It takes longer on the handloom, but makes a more robust pattern, which stands out on the fabric. Meenakari involves the painstaking addition of supplementary coloured resham threads during the hand-weaving process
  • Fabric - Soft as butter, pure Katan Silk
  • Speciality - An enrapturing allover kadwa jangla in zari and 12 colour meenakari. Rooted in heritage artistry, this saree embodies exceptional workmanship. Each element of patterning on the saree has been individually woven, requiring 80 hand movements for a single line of weaving.
  • Pairing - This saree can also be optionally paired with a delicately hand-embroidered odhani in pure Silk Organza, adorned with zari, dabka and resham aari work that complements the saree.
  • Tilfi Promise - Pure. Handloom. Banaras.
  • Note - The saree comes with its own blouse piece. The model is wearing a separate blouse for styling purposes.

Since this product is handwoven, there might be slight irregularities. But don't you think these add to the singular charm of a handloom beauty?
