Dark Grey Pure Cotton Jamdani Real Zari Banarasi Handloom Saree

A Handwoven Legacy

One of our finest pieces, this is an artistic treasure! Incredibly difficult to weave and timeless in its appeal, a Banarasi Rangkat saree is a rare, handloom masterpiece. Time-honoured motifs in the exquisite Jamdani weave and a distinctive pattern with multiple colours, all woven in pure zari made from Real Silver. This saree brings the best of Banarasi weaving traditions.

  • Color - A graceful shade of Dark Grey with a delicate green selvage
  • Technique - Magical Jamdani and an enduring Kadwa. A technique that traces its roots to the region of Dhaka in Bangladesh, Jamdani is known for its extremely fine quality and ethereal appeal. The patterns are made using heavier threads on a lighter, translucent backdrop of fabric.
  • Fabric - Light, Airy and Translucent, pure Cotton
  • Speciality - Rangkat is a handloom technique which is on the verge of disappearing. Only a handful of weavers remain that can weave a true Rangkat. This exquisite and time-intensive technique can be identified by the sharp changes in the base colours of the fabric. This requires multiple changes in the warp and produces a beautiful multihued garment.
  • Tilfi Promise - Pure. Handloom. Banaras.

Since this product is handwoven, there might be slight irregularities. But don't you think these add to the singular charm of a handloom beauty?
