'Sweet Osmanthus' Green Pure Katan Silk Banarasi Handloom Saree

ORN0018

Sweet Osmanthus

Showering genuine affection on the pleasing sightings of a garden, this drape is suffused with poetic overtones and imbued with meaning. Blooming sweet osmanthus and cherry blossoms are accompanied by carefree sparrows, the auspicious symbols of happiness and the coming of spring.

  • Color - A beautiful shade of Green
  • Technique An enduring Kadwa weave and fine Meenakari technique. The elaborate and laborious Kadwa (Kadhua) technique involves hand-weaving each motif separately. It takes longer on the handloom, but makes a more robust pattern, which stands out on the fabric. Meenakari involves the painstaking addition of supplementary coloured resham threads during the hand-weaving process.
  • Fabric - Soft as butter, pure Katan silk
  • Speciality - Dainty zari meenakari blossoms adorn the border and beautiful sweet osmanthus shrubs grace the pallu of this delightful piece, with humble sparrows fluttering off. Inspired by the Oriental art of scroll paintings, our weave not only portrays the outer beauty of its motifs, but also conveys the subtle demeanour of its subjects. Peony Pavilion unfolds as a revelation, demanding dedicated attention to reveal the blooming delicacy of its poetic language.
  • Tilfi Promise - Pure. Handloom. Banaras.
  • Note - The saree comes with its own blouse piece. The model is wearing a separate blouse for styling purposes.
