'Usha' Beige Pure Katan Silk Banarasi Handloom Saree

SKAPLOW11157

Usha

A pure silk Banarasi saree with a lustrous plain body, complemented by a Meenakari border that depicts traditional Mughal architectural features of bulbous domes and arches. Within the outlines of the borders, handwoven resham and zari vines form patterns that appear to have no discernible beginning or end, akin to the styles of minute floral vines seen in the confined spaces of Mughal miniature paintings.

  • Color - A distinctive shade of Beige in the body and a Maroon border
  • Fabric - Pure Katan silk
  • Technique - An enduring Kadwa weave and masterly Meenakari. The elaborate and laborious Kadwa technique involves hand-weaving each motif separately. It takes longer on the handloom, but makes a more robust pattern that stands out on the fabric. Meenakari involves the painstaking addition of supplementary colored resham threads during the hand-weaving process.
  • Collection Note - Distinguished by its creative rendition of designs that reflect a heritage steeped in artistry, the Tilfi Kala collection draws inspiration from the mesmerising intricacy of old Mughal miniature art and architecture, bringing it to life on textiles through masterful craftsmanship.
  • Tilfi Promise - Pure. Handloom. Banaras.
  • Note - The saree comes with its own blouse piece. The model is wearing a separate blouse for styling purposes only.

Since this product is handwoven, there might be slight irregularities. But don't you think these add to the singular charm of a handloom beauty?
