-
Color - A marvellous shot colour of Blue and Green
-
Technique - An enduring Kadwa weave and fine Meenakari technique. The elaborate and laborious Kadwa (Kadhua) technique involves hand-weaving each motif separately. It takes longer on the handloom, but makes a more robust pattern, which stands out on the fabric. Meenakari involves the painstaking addition of supplementary coloured resham threads during the hand-weaving process.
-
Fabric - Soft as butter, pure Katan silk
-
Speciality - Dainty zari meenakari blossoms adorn the border and beautiful sweet osmanthus shrubs grace the pallu of this delightful piece, with humble sparrows fluttering off. Inspired by the Oriental art of scroll paintings, our weave not only portrays the outer beauty of its motifs, but also conveys the subtle demeanour of its subjects. Peony Pavilion unfolds as a revelation, demanding dedicated attention to reveal the blooming delicacy of its poetic language.
-
Tilfi Promise - Pure. Handloom. Banaras.
